Festival goers will have an opportunity to see more than 3,000 ornamental plants and flowers and miniature landscapes. They will also enjoy traditional cultural activities such as lion and dragon dances, folk games and fruit tray displays.

Besides the Spring Flower Festival, the city will organise Tet flower markets at six locations, including Le Van Tam Park in district 1, Gia Dinh Park in Go Vap district, Phu My Hung street in district 7, from January 25 to January 31.

Nguyen Thanh Ha, an owner of a flower garden, said he planned to transport 1,000 apricot blossom trees for sale on Pham Van Dong street in Thu Duc city.

"An apricot blossom tree can be sold at 2 - 15 million VND (88-660 USD)," he told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, adding that demand for purchasing the tree is likely to decrease compared to normal due to the impact of the pandemic.

A representative of Phuong Binh apricot garden in Thu Duc city also said the rent of an apricot blossom can drop by 30-40 percent against that of last year due to falling demand.
