On June 4, Leaders of the central city of Da Nang announced information regarding the 18th Asian route development forum 2020 (Routes Asia 2022), which is taking place from June 4-8.

Notably, Routes Asia 2022 will welcome high-level leaders and route network planners from more than 80 leading airlines in the region.

Within the event, over 1,500 meetings will be held between stakeholders, including airlines, airports and destinations. The discussions will focus on the methods for their coordination to restore the route network, creating long-term economic benefits for the Asia-Pacific region.

The main topics of discussion during the meetings include the impact of COIVD-19 on consumer behaviour and travel trends, and the most effective strategies to restore market demand.

Despite travel restrictions due to the pandemic, the aviation industry's traffic outlook in the region remains strong.

Therefore, Da Nang has confidently promoted investment in airport infrastructure to increase capacity to 28 million passengers by 2030 and 200,000 tonnes of cargo per year.

Da Nang is the first city of Vietnam to host Routes Asia (2022), marking an important milestone for the recovery of the aviation and tourism industries.

The city expects that the forum will open opportunities for cooperation with aviation businesses to boost connection and the exchange of tourists and tourism products towards the recovery and expansion of the network of international routes to Da Nang.

More than 550 delegates, including 450 internationals from 194 organisations, have registered for the event. The delegates began to participate in a series of events on the sidelines of Routes Asia 2022, such as destination surveys and connections with international airlines. The event will feature 43 pavilions.
