Bac Lieu seeks national record for 100 shrimp and salt-made dishes

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu will hold a cooking event to seek a national record for 100 dishes made with shrimp and salt, heard a press conference held on August 4.

The cooking event will be organised within the framework of the Bac Lieu Culture and Tourism Festival, which will take place from November 27 to 29 with the participation of cities and provinces throughout the Mekong Delta region.

The programme will feature a ‘Don Ca Tai Tu’ (a genre of folk singing in the southern region), a Khmer folk music and dance festival, and field trips to survey potential tourism products.

According to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Thieu, the programme aims to promote the land and people of Bac Lieu to domestic and foreign tourists, contribute to boosting tourism development, attracting investment, and improving people's livelihoods.
