Vietnam sees strong growth in tourist arrivals from Asian countries

According to the General Statistics Office, the number of foreign tourists travelling to Vietnam reached over 9 million in the first seven months of 2018, up 25% over the same period last year, of which 77% came from Asia, up 30%.

Meanwhile, visitors from European countries were estimated at over 1.2 million, up over 10% over the same period last year.

Tourist arrivals to Vietnam by air, road and sea reached approximately 7.3 million, up 20% against the same period last year, 1.5 million, up 63% and 178,000, down 0.2%, respectively.

Visitors from America reached over 570,000 people, up 13% over the same period last year, of which visitors from the US reached 433,500, up 15%. Visitors from Oceania reached over 266,000, up 8.4%, while visitors from African countries reached over 24,000, up 21.5% over the same period in 2017.
