Vietnam gets ready to host 2019 ASEAN Tourism Forum

Vietnam is ready to host the 2019 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF), which will take place in Ha Long city, in the northern province of Quang Ninh, from January 14-18, announced the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) at a press conference held in Hanoi on January 9.

This is the second time Vietnam has hosted the forum, which is the largest annual event in ASEAN tourism cooperation. The first time Vietnam hosted the event was in 2009.

Addressing the conference, MCST Deputy Minister Le Quang Tung stressed that the ATF 2019 is a great opportunity for ASEAN nations, and in particular Vietnam, to promote their unique destinations to international partners and businesses as well as major news agencies in the region and the around the world.

Themed “ASEAN – The Power of One”, the ATF 2019 will be attended by more than 2,000 delegates, including tourism ministers, leaders of national tourism agencies, travel agents, hotels and resorts, airlines, and news agencies.

The event will feature a string of activities, including the ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ Meeting, the meeting of leaders of the ASEAN national tourism organisations, the ASEAN Tourism Forum on Travel Exchange (Travex), and the award-ceremony for the ASEAN Tourism Awards, among others.
