Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2019 to feature nearly 50 activities

The 2019 Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival will take place from May 10-13, featuring nearly 50 cultural, art, sporting and trade acivities as well as scientific seminars.

The information was released under the decision issued by the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee to approve the programme for this year Festival.

During the festival, many events and rituals will highlight the traditional cultural value of the province in particular and the South Central Coastal region of the country in general, including the Cau Ngu festival (festival to pray for a good fishing harvest), Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest festival, folk games and a swimming competition.

In addition, visitors to the festival can join numerous modern events such as a fine art exhibition, a children’s painting contest themed ‘Khanh Hoa in my eyes’, a world music festival and a street art show.

This year’s Festival will also feature both familiar and new sporting activities: a sea swimming competition, a beach volleyball tournament and a beach football championship as well as the national Muay club championship and beach physique competition.

Regarding the trade and scientific fields, a Vietnamese Goods Fair, an international scientific seminar on sustainable development of Vietnamese salanganes nest industry, and a national scientific workshop on training human resources for tourism in the fourth industrial revolution will attract the attention of enterprises and experts.

Khanh Hoa is the host of the 2019 National Tourism Year, so the opening ceremony for the Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival on May 10 will open the Tourism Year.

The biennial Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival began in 2003 and has become one of the most important events of the locality, contributing to attracting more visitors and promoting the province’s tourism.
