Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival concludes

The seventh Buon Ma Thuot Coffee 2019 wrapped up successfully in Buon Ma Thuot city in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on March 13.

Numerous trade and investment promotion activities were held under the framework of the festival, including the Dak Lak province investment promotion conference, a trade expo on the coffee industry, a street carnival and a book fair.

There will also be cultural and sporting events, including an elephant race, a food fest, a boat race, and reenactments of the Central Highlanders’ traditional rituals.

Especially, the coffee fair attracted the participation of 230 units with 800 booths, including 65 stalls of 18 foreign enterprises, attracting more than 200,000 visitors. Hundreds of memoranda of cooperation were signed.

In addition, the first Vietnamese coffee competition in 2019 attracted 31 domestic and foreign organisations, as well as individuals. In particular, at the Dak Lak province investment promotion conference 2019, 38 projects were handed investment certificates and decisions, as well as memoranda with a total registered capital of approximately VND 72,000 billion.

After eight days of organisation, the festival attracted around 50,000 visitors, including 6,000 international visitors.

This year’s Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival continued to honour Vietnamese coffee products, especially the brand and geographical indication of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee in the international market; promoting the development of coffee with the desire to make Buon Ma Thuot - Dac Lak the "destination of world coffee".

The event also contributed to promoting the potential and strengths to promote trade and investment in the direction of sustainable development, especially in the fields of agriculture, the processing industry and renewable energy, and spreading traditional cultural values, solidarity and unity in diversity. The festival is considered as an opportunity to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Dac Lac province and other localities in the country and international organisations.
