The opening ceremony for the event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

With the theme of ‘Green Tourism’, the mart aims to respond to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development set by the United Nations.

Accordingly, tourism enterprises will have the opportunity to introduce their green tourism products, such as ecotourism, community tourism and agricultural products, as well as initiatives in environmental protection and climate change adaptation in tourism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien noted that the 2019 VITM highlighted the development trend of tourism in the future.

It has become an open forum with numerous activities, offering a good chance for domestic and international travel businesses to exchange business opportunities in the near future, he added.

This year’s VITM is expected to attract over 85,000 visitors.
