The event, which is among the activities in celebration of the Vietnam Ethnic Groups' Cultural Day (April 19), will see the participation of Khmer, H’mong, Tay, Si La, Thai, Ha Nhi, La Ha groups as well as tribes from the Central Highlands region.

The highlight of the programme will be the reproduction of a typical rural market in the northern province of Lai Chau from April 27 to May 1, offering visitors an opportunity to taste local dishes, explore indigenous culture and handicraft products, and play folk games in the locality.

Members of the Lai Chau and Son La provincial art troupes will bring assorted folklore singing and dances to the event.

Unique traditional festivals and cultural practices will be restaged on the occasion, including the peace praying ceremony of La Ha people, the new-rice season welcoming ritual of the Si La, and praying for rain of the Ha Nhi, and the Chol Chnam Thmay festival of the Khmer community.
