The programme will gather representatives from the VNAT, international travel agents, airlines, hotels, and resorts.

The event, which is part of the VNAT’s National Tourism Promotion Programme for 2019, provides an opportunity for participants to introduce Vietnam’s tourist sites, products and services as well as the country’s updated policies on tourism to people and businesses in the host country.

It aims to advertise the land and people of Vietnam to international friends and facilitate the cooperation between travel companies of the two countries.

Japan has been a key market for the Vietnamese tourism sector. In 2018, Vietnam welcomed around 826,000 Japanese travellers. The exchange of tourists between the two countries is predicted to reach 1.5 million arrivals by 2020.

Vietnam aims to serve about 18 million foreign visitors and 85 million domestic ones in 2019, and to earn more than VND 700 trillion (US$ 30.2 billion) from tourism revenue, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
