The event attracts 126 paragliders from 16 clubs from Vietnam, the UK, Thailand, Australia, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.

Pilots will take off from a point on Thoi Loi Mountain, 170m above sea level, and land on the runaway of Ly Son heliport.

This is the first time Quang Ngai Province has hosted a paragliding event on Ly Son Island, with an aim to promote the culture and tourism potentials of the island.

The event is also expected to bring the participants the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences.

The first Quang Ngai Open Paragliding Championship 2019, as one of activities to celebrate 30 years since the re-establishment of Quang Ngai province, runs until June 24.
