In the first six months of 2019, Vietnam welcomed nearly 8.5 million international visitors, up 7.5% over the same period last year. In which the highest increase is arrivals by road, up 24.9%, followed arrivals by air increased by 4.5%.

However, according to the GSO’s analysis, the number of international visitors is tending to decrease. In June, 2019, the number of international visitors is the lowest since the beginning of the year. Compared to the same period last year, the number of international visitors to Vietnam during this year’s June only increased by 0.2%.

The goal of Vietnam tourism in 2019 is welcoming 18 million international visitors, serving 85 million domestic tourists, determined to complete 1 year ahead of the Politburo's Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW on developing the tourism industry. Therefore, right from the beginning of 2019, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism continuously performs the task of introducing and promoting Vietnamese tourism in key markets.

In June,2019, Vietnam will participate in Beijing International Tourism Expo 2019. Meanwhile, Vietnam also organised a series of roadshows to promote Viet Nam tourism in Daejeon, Daegu and Busan, the Republic of Korea (RoK).
