The carnival, organised by Sun Group, is the highlight of activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the city’s recognition as ‘City for Peace’ by UNESCO.

Starting from the Ly Thai To Statue, the carnival group marched nearly 2km around the Hoan Kiem Lake and stopped at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and the Hang Khay - Hai Ba Trung intersection.

There was a festive atmosphere of music, American carnival dances, fireball dance, drum performances, and circus performances while others cheered with local audience and tourists. The impressive performance of Malambo – Argentina's typical drum dance, was also brought to the carnival. This is an excerpt from the world-class "Vu Hoi Anh Duong" show that was first invested in Vietnam, in Ba Na Hills tourist resort in Da Nang.

This is the third time such a carnival has been held in Hanoi, after the success of the first one held in September 2017 and the second one on May 19 of this year.

The event not only entertained locals and tourists but also conveyed a message of a dynamic, well integrated and strongly growing Hanoi, a city for peace.
