Programme spotlighting Viet Bac region’s heritage sites kicks off in Lang Son

The 2019 “Crossing the Heritage Lands of the Viet Bac Region” programme kicked off at Hung Vuong Square in Son La Province on November 4.

The opening ceremony attracted more than 300 artists of the Viet Bac Region, which includes the six provinces of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang, together with guest artists from the art troupe from China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The artists brought to the stage beautiful songs and dances praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and cultural identities of Viet Bac Region.

The three--day programme features assorted activities, including an expo of specialties and typical tourist products of the Viet Bac region and China’s Guangxi region, arts performances, and sporting events.

The programme has been held alternately among the six localities since 2009 with the aim to promote the land, people, culture and tourism potential of the region, strengthen cooperation among the participating provinces, and lure more visitors and investors to the region.

The 2020 event will be hosted by Thai Nguyen Province.
