Co-hosted by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and tourism and the provincial Association of Tourism, the event attracted nearly 300 local businesses working in the hospitality sector.

As the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak has crippled the tourism sector of the whole country, and of Binh Thuan Province in particular, the programme was launched to stimulate tourism demand and promote Binh Thuan as an attractive, friendly and safe destination for both domestic and foreign holidaymakers.

Tran Ngoc Dung, Vice Chairman of the provincial Association of Tourism stressed that it is time for local tourism businesses to review its operation and join their hands to overcome the crisis and advertise provincial tourism.

Under the programme, participating businesses will offer coupons with up to 50% discounts while using their transport, accommodation, entertainment, healthcare and food services. The coupons are valid for three years, until 2022.

The businesses also raised nearly VND500 million at the launching ceremony to the help local tourism sector recover after the epidemic ends.
