More tourist attractions resume operations

More tourist attractions and cultural and historical sites have reopened for visitors after being halting operation due to fear of COVID-19 outbreak.

The Sapa national tourism site, community-based tourist sites, and homestay facilities in the northern province of Lao Cai reopened for visitors on April 28, according to the Sapa town People’s Committee.

However, facilities were asked to remind their guests to wear facemasks and have their hands sanitised. Local restaurants and cafeterias must ensure a 1-metre distance between tables and improve ventilation.

Tourist service providers, places of interest and cultural and historical sites in Ninh Binh province were also allowed to resume operations this morning.

The local authorities requested tour operators to have no more than 20 tourists in a group and ensure that their customers fill in health declaration forms during their stay in Ninh Binh.

Meanwhile, popular tourist attractions in Quang Binh province got the green light from local authorities to resume operations from April 27.

Deputy director of the provincial Tourism Department, Dang Dong Ha, said that the department has called on travel agents and businesses to offer discounts for visitors to stimulate local the tourism sector.
