During the holidays, Da Lat city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong welcome nearly 29,000, including some 630 foreigners, the Da Lat city People's Committee reported.

Vice Chairwoman of Da Lat city People’s Committee, Tran Thi Vu Loan said that working groups had been set up to inspect tourist activities at tourist sites, and remind visitors to observe epidemic prevention regulations.

Comprehensive measures have also been taken to continue promoting Da Lat as a friendly and safe destination for holiday-makers, she added.

According to the Quang Nam provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the holidays of April 30 and May 1, the total number of tourists visiting the province was estimated at 10,800, accounting for only 5% over the same period in 2019.

Although the number of visitors dropped sharply compared to the same period last year, according to the provincial authorities, the reopening of tourist destinations during the holiday is expected to pave the way for the next step to restore tourism activities after the epidemic.

The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh also welcomed thousands of tourists during the five-day holiday of National Reunification Day and May Day.
