Programme launched to promote tourism potential of Yen Bai

A tourism programme was launched in Luc Yen District in the northern province of Yen Bai on December 4, gathering more than 100 local artisans, artists and ethnic people from across the district.

Visitors to the opening ceremony were entertained with folk song and dances of ethnic groups in Luc Yen District, and admired a colourful firework display on the bank of Yen The Lake.

Various activities are being held within the framework of the tourism programme, including a rural market introducing typical products and delicious dishes of Luc Yen District, a chung (square glutinous rice cake) making contest, a bamboo basket weaving competition, street art performances, and exciting sporting events.

Visitors can also join tours to the Hac Y – Dai Kai national archaeological site, the Co Van – Muong Lai revolutionary base, and the Khai Trung Plain.

According the Chairman of Luc Yen District People’s Committee, Dinh Khac Yen, the local authorities have worked to establish Luc Yen as a friendly and attractive tourist destination for visitors, and strived to earn the title of new-style rural area for the district by 2025.
