PMG analysed more than seven million Instagram hashtags to find the world’s most stunning routes. Accordingly, with a length of 20 kilometres and 2,686 pictures per km, the Hai Van Pass came fourth in the list, behind the Great Ocean Road (Australia), Big Sur (California), and Jebel Hafeet (United Arab Emirates).

Describing the Hai Van Pass, Travel + Leisure said the route was once dubbed “one of the best coast roads in the world” by Jeremy Clarkson, former host of UK motoring television programme Top Gear. The website also recommends those travelling along the route slow their speed when weather conditions become foggy.

According to PMG’s search, with a total length of 20km, the pass has become one of the most popular destinations for visitors to snap photographs on, with over 52,000 photos taken at the site having been uploaded to Instagram.

In addition to the Hai Van Pass, the nine other stunning routes in the list include Great Ocean Road (252km, 5,261 pictures per km), Big Sur (145km, 3,266 pictures per km), Jebel Hafeet (UAE, 11.2km, 3,025 pictures per km), Chapman's Peak (South Africa, 8.8km, 2,140 pictures per km), Blue Ridge (US, 755km, 717 pictures per km), Going-to-the-Sun (US, 80km, 587 pictures per km), Wild Atlantic (Ireland, 2,500km, 533 pictures per km), Olympic Peninsula Loop (US, 482km, 498 pictures per km), and Icefields Parkway (Canada, 232km, 488 pictures per km).
