Number of visitors to Khanh Hoa increased sharply during Lunar New Year holiday

Around 65,500 tourists visited the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, from January 31 to February 4 (the first five days of the Lunar New Year holiday), a year-on-year increase of 241 percent.

In particular, the number of international visitors reached 2,000 (up 130 percent) and domestic tourists were 63,500 (up 248 percent).

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, the provincial Department of Tourism, in coordination with Cam Ranh International Airport and Vietnam Airlines held a ceremony to welcome the first visitors to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa.

In addition to cultural and art activities held by the local authorities, the tourism businesses have developed several programmes and products, on the occasion of Tet holiday, such as the gala on the Lunar New Year’s Eve, dragon dances, calligraphy letters, art performances and folk games.

The destinations in the province were decorated lightly to serve the visitors.

Competent agencies have regularly asked the businesses, to seriously observe COVID-19 prevention and control regulations, while limiting mass gatherings.

* During the first three days of Lunar New Year 2022, the ancient city of Hoi An welcomed around 5,000 visitors, mainly from Da Nang city and several localities in the central region.

A programme was held on February 2 (the second day of the Lunar New Year), to honour bai choi singing (a popular folklore style of singing in the central and south-central regions of Vietnam), attracting a large number of visitors.

The destinations were decorated impressively for visitors to take photos, such as Chic Chillax and The Deck House An Bang Beach.
