Stretching through four districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac, Dong Van stone plateau (Ha Giang) has no shortage of beautiful roads, bringing many unexpected and interesting experiences for visitors.

In Yen Minh District, in addition to the immense green pine forest stretching tens of kilometres through the three communes of Bach Dich, Lao Va Chai and Na Khe, known as a miniature Da Lat in Ha Giang, Du Gia Commune (about 70 km from Ha Giang City) attracts tourists with its rich and peaceful village and unspoiled natural scenery, hidden with many potentials and advantages for tourism development.

Du Gia is a testament to the saying that beauty is not only in the destination, it also lies on the roads. To go to Du Gia, there are many roads and turns but every road is dangerous, challenging any driver who wants to explore the land known as the “fairy village in the middle of Ha Giang stone plateau” or “paradise on earth”.

The road from Meo Vac District to Yen Minh District, with about 80 km of zigzag roads criss-crossing the mountains, is also a place where tourists often stop to take photos to check-in, and capture the overwhelming majesty of this unspoiled land.

The road from Dong Van to Du Gia, passing through Yen Minh and Mau Due, is about 90 km, with patches of silk-cotton flowers blooming bright red and fertile corn fields growing green mixed with scattered cat ears everywhere. There is only one way to get to Du Gia, which is to overcome many towering, overlapping, winding, winding, steep mountains. Visitors can start their journey early in the morning, when the clouds cover the mountains, sometimes with the sound of chickens somewhere in the air. There are deserted sections with only one person, one car, and no services on the road.

When sun breaks through the leaves, after a long day of going the pass, the small, rustic stilt roofs appear on the dim side of the mountain. In the dim light, the small village of Du Gia appears with a peaceful and wild beauty, soothing the fatigue after a long day on the road.

Du Gia Commune possesses natural advantages such as mountains, white waterfalls and clear streams teeming with fish, and magnificent terraced fields with beautiful natural scenery. The beautiful small village with a community of Tay people and traditional stilt roofs in the middle of unspoiled nature attracts visitors.

As a remote commune, but the connection of the internet and the dynamism and agility of the villagers have made in recent years, Du Gia has developed a homestay service to serve the needs of tourists. Currently, there are more than 20 households conducting business in accommodation services in Du Gia, promoting their identity and strengths in natural scenery, thus becoming attractive destinations in the journey to discover Ha Giang’s rocky plateau.

Nguyen Van Khuy, the manager of Du Gia Homestay (Coc Pang Village, Du Gia Commune), a young Tay man who has been working in homestay tourism for more than a year now, regularly advises visitors enthusiastically Information about Du Gia said: “Du Gia is still a new name next to familiar names when referring to Ha Giang such as Dong Van, Meo Vac. Coming to Du Gia, visitors can experience the culture of the Tay people, go hiking, swim in the cool waters of Tham Luong Waterfall, and catch fish on Du Gia Stream.

Visitors can also get up early, walk around the small village when the rice is green, breathe in the smell of leaves and fresh air, then visit Du Gia fair which meets on weekend mornings with highland products, buy a handful of five-colour sticky rice, or a few litres of corn wine with yeast leaves or a little sticky rice. In the evening, visitors can enjoy fish from the stream, steamed hill chicken with bamboo shoots, braised duck with bamboo shoots, sausages from the kitchen, roast pork with leaves to the music, feminine dancing and singing of the Tay girls.".

Ha Giang is beautiful by its simplicity, but the highlight on this rocky plateau picture is the beautiful and peaceful villages mixed with pure colours of pear flowers, plum flowers, and the brilliant yellow of canola flowers or fading colours of five-petaled wild peaches.

On that journey, many tourists have come and fell in love with Du Gia because of its unspoiled beauty and simple, friendly and attractive people.
