In the vote held among over one million of Smart Travel Asia’s readers, Hanoi moved up one place over 2012, remaining one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Vietnam.
The city has also been elected one of the top ten destinations in Asia by the magazine’s readers many times, reflecting the efforts of the city authority and the tourism sector to create a civilised, safe, and friendly tourism environment to attract foreign visitors.
The number of foreigners to visit Hanoi still sees increases despite the slower rise in foreign tourists to other destinations in the country, owing to the economic crisis.
The city welcomed an estimated 1.9 million foreign arrivals in the first nine months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 20%, and 11.72 million domestic tourists, up 11.7% over the same period last year.
