Visitors to gain free entrance to Hoi An ancient town

Visitors will enjoy free entrance to Hoi An ancient town, a tourist attraction in Hoi An city, on December 4, as part of activities to mark the 19th anniversary of UNESCO’s recognition of Hoi An ancient town as a world heritage site.

The Hoi An City authorities announced the decision on November 28.

The programme aims to create conditions for tourists to learn about and enjoy the unique values of history and culture of Hoi An; meanwhile it is expected to attract tourists to the locale.

According to Vu Phung, Director of Hoi An city Centre for Culture and Sports, all visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy free entrance to the ancient town, enjoy the ancient cultural space of Hoi An and participate in activities at the relics, as well as visit Thanh Ha pottery village on December 4.

The programme will remain on the anniversary of the ancient city’s recognition as a world cultural heritage, he added.
