This is part of the activities by the local tourism sector in a bid to attract more domestic tourists after the heavy damage caused by the COVID-19 outbreaks as well as natural disasters in the past year.

The city is building new products and services to stimulate tourism demand. Of which, the Da Nang Department of Tourism has cooperated with local travel agencies to launch free half-day city tours (morning or afternoon), taking visitors to some notable tourist attractions in Da Nang with support from the Da Nang Tour Guide Association.

The tour follows an itinerary across Linh Ung Pagoda, Son Tra Peninsula, Love Bridge, Dragon Bridge and Marble Mountains, along with offering souvenir products.

Visitors can book the tour before 17:00 daily for free pick up with departure from 07:30 to 08:30 the next day.

In addition, from now until March 30, Da Nang will give away five tickets a day for an open bus round trip tour between downtown Da Nang and the favourite tourist destination Ba Na.

To restore domestic tourism in the context of the complicated COVID-19 epidemic and while Vietnam is still unable to welcome international visitors, the Da Nang tourism industry is focussing on organising travel events to promote local tourism, especially meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism.

Nguyen Xuan Binh, Deputy Head of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang, said that currently, Da Nang is coordinating with other sectors to boost domestic tourism and attract more tourists to the city. The focus will be on prioritising tourists right from the moment they get off the plane or arrive at attractions in the city as well as organising MICE events.
