The monument, named “Friends of the Alliance — Vietnamese Soldiers,” is located in Patriot Park, on the outskirts of Moscow, Russia, and features three statues depicting Vietnamese international volunteer soldiers holding defensive positions and fighting in the battle to defend Moscow.

Inaugurated in 2024, the Monument to Vietnamese International Volunteers serves as both a testament to historical tradition and a symbol of efforts to strengthen and deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that, overcoming the ups and downs of history and the fluctuations of the world and regional situation, the people and armies of the two countries have always worked together to cultivate, preserve, and develop a good relationship that is profound, effective, and substantial.

General Phan Van Giang emphasised that the people and the People’s Army of Viet Nam always remember the selfless, sincere, great, and effective assistance that the Russian Federation has given to Viet Nam in the fight for national reunification in the past, as well as in building and defending the Fatherland today.
