The second DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit concluded without reaching an agreement on important issues related to sanctions and the denuclearisation process. Addressing a press conference after the meeting, US President Donald Trump said that although he and Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK Kim Jong Un had a good and constructive dialogue, the two sides could not come to any agreements due to disagreements over the issue of removing the US embargo against the DPRK. The US leader stated that the DPRK requested the removal of US sanctions before the dismantling of its nuclear facilities, but the US did not agree. The two leaders expressed their wish to continue meeting in the future.
