The pandemic situation remains complicated in Vientiane capital city when it recorded 150 community cases in a day.

Therefore, Vientiane decided to extend lockdown order until October 15. The capital still maintains checkpoints to ensure proper travel and promote vaccinations against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Singapore’s Health Ministry said on October 2 that the number of COVID-19 infections in the country surpassed the 100,000 benchmark as an additional 2,356 new cases were detected. The national tally had stood at 101,786 as of the end of October 2.

The ministry also announced four more deaths, raising the total number of fatalities to 107.

As of October 1, 85% of the country’s population had got at least one shot of vaccine against COVID-19, and 82% of the population had been vaccinated fully.

From October 7, quarantine measures for incoming travellers to Singapore will be determined based on the travellers’ recent travel history in the last 14 days, instead of 21 days.

The Stay-Home Notice (SHN) for those who are fully inoculated will be reduced to 10 days from 14 days, due to the shorter incubation period of the Delta variant.
