During his trip to Lombok on January 13 to see the progress in infrastructure construction, Widodo said the Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport will welcome millions of tourists who come for the race.

The airport has established additional facilities to screen and test passengers for COVID-19.

All facilities serving the race, including roads to the circuit and nearby hotels and restaurants, have been certified as meeting COVID-19 preventive measures.

To serve this event, more than 300 homestay facilities have been built in Mandalika in an effort to bolster tourism.

A trial run will be organised this February.
