ASEAN Tourism Forum marks return of regional tourism

The five-day ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2022 concluded on January 21 in Cambodia, marking the return of regional tourism after two years of suspension due to COVID-19.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Cambodia’s Tourism Minister Thong Khon spoke highly of the attendance of tourism officials from ASEAN countries, partners and international organisations.

He expressed his wishes for closer cooperation between ASEAN countries so as to revive and promote ASEAN tourism together.

At the ceremony, Cambodia handed over the baton to Indonesia, which will host the ASEAN Tourism Forum in 2023.

During the forum, the Vietnamese delegation attended the travel expo with an exhibition booth showcasing images of seven Vietnamese destinations, which are open to international travellers.

On the occasion, 20 Vietnamese localities and units were honoured with the ASEAN Tourism Award for their high-quality tourism products and services.

At the forum, a new logo and tagline for ASEAN tourism "A Destination for Every Dream” was announced, as part of the efforts to revive the industry in 2022.
