Overseas Vietnamese busy celebrating Lunar New Year

The Vietnamese Embassy in Italy, organised the “Xuan Que huong” (Homeland Spring) programme 2022, in online form, with the participation of a large number of overseas Vietnamese, friends and partners, across Italy and Cyprus.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Hue expressed her pleasure to see Vietnamese culture spread widely, not only in the Vietnamese community, but also among young Italians.

On the occasion of the event, the Vietnamese community also sent musical performances, bearing the identity of their homeland, including stories about Vietnamese culture, a performance of Kieu's poetry by young Italians who study Vietnamese, along with songs to celebrate the Party, Spring and welcome the New Year of the Tiger 2022.

About 50 people who are members of the Vietnamese community, including Vietnamese businesses operating in Tanzania, gathered at the Vietnamese Embassy in Dar es Salaam city, to attend a meeting to celebrate the 2022 Lunar New Year. In the bustling atmosphere of the New Year "Xuan Que Huong 2022", the community, businesses and all officers and employees of the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania, together enjoyed dishes rich in traditional Vietnamese flavours and sung together in praise of the love of the motherland and country.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Nam Tien conveyed New Year greetings from the leaders of the Party and State to the Vietnamese community in Tanzania, and informed them of the achievements in the fields of political-diplomacy, socio-economics, as well as the situation of the Vietnamese community within Tanzania.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Morocco's capital Rabat, organised the Community New Year to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Tiger in 2022, with participation from all the families of officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community living and working in Morocco. Before the opening ceremony, all overseas Vietnamese, officials and employees of the Embassy, respectfully offered incense, in memory of President Ho Chi Minh.

On behalf of overseas Vietnamese, speaking at the ceremony, Tran Thi Hong May expressed her gratitude for the concern of the Party and State, and affirmed that they will continue to unite and make greater efforts. The ceremony took place in a warm, happy atmosphere, imbued with Vietnamese culture. They had cultural exchanges and enjoyed traditional Vietnamese dishes.
