Many foreign countries, international organizations observe Thai election: commissioner

Representatives of many foreign countries and international organizations are observing Sunday's election in Thailand, said Election Commissioner Lertviroj Kowattana in Bangkok on March 23.

According to the commissioner, one group of representatives of the foreign countries and international organizations, including those of a dozen Bangkok-based embassies of Australia, Bhutan, Cambodia, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Timor-Leste and Vietnam, is observing the election in Bangkok and outlying provinces.

Meanwhile, another group of representatives of Canada, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Britain, the United States and a few international organizations are observing the election in a free and independent fashion, he said.
