The gunmen stormed into the hotel and were stopped by the security forces, with a gun battle happening thereafter.
Pakistani officials said on May 12 that all the attackers had been killed after the hours-long gun battle. A hotel security guard was also killed.
Pakistan’s army has now taken full control of the area and is conducting searches. All customers staying at the hotel were evacuated to safety.
The insurgent group Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack.
