World News in Brief: July 8

The death toll in Monday (July 8) morning's bus mishap in north India has risen to 29, while 18 people were injured, government sources confirmed. The mishap occurred when a passengers bus heading towards Delhi from Lucknow, the capital city of northern state of Uttar Pradesh, fell in an around 50-feet deep drain in the wee hours of Monday in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh.

* The Venezuelan government and opposition have agreed to meet again for talks to overcome the political crisis facing them, the parties involved said on Sunday (July 7).

* Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araqchi announced on Sunday that the United States can attend the new round of nuclear talks that Iran and the remaining parties to the Iranian 2015 nuclear deal plan to hold in future. He urged Washington to lift banking and energy sanctions against Tehran before attending the talks.

* US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Sunday warned that Iran's move to raise its uranium enrichment concentration would result in "further isolation and sanctions."

* Germany is extremely concerned about Iran's uranium enrichment program which breaks the Iran nuclear deal, a spokesperson of German Foreign Ministry said Sunday.

* At least six persons were killed and 96 others sustained injuries as a car bomb rocked Ghazni city, the capital of Afghanistan's Ghazni province on Sunday, provincial government spokesman Aref Nuri said. Taliban militants have claimed the responsibility, saying the armed outfit targeted security base killing and injuring scores of security personnel.
