UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres believes Iran's action to cross the nuclear deal limit would neither help preserve the plan nor secure economic benefits for the Iranian people, his deputy spokesman said Monday (July 8). The spokesman for Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced that the Islamic republic crossed the limit of 3.67 percent, to higher level, in concentration of nuclear enrichment on Monday.

* China on Monday called for restraint and continuous efforts to maintain and implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), after Iran raised its uranium enrichment concentration beyond the limits set by the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

* The Lao Ministry of Health has advised people throughout the country to clear potential mosquito breeding sites as an outbreak of dengue fever has claimed 27 lives and more than 11,000 people have contracted the virus so far this year.

* Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe on Monday said China is willing to deepen military exchanges and cooperation with the Caribbean countries and Pacific island countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

* Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Monday told the state television that the government delegation started talks with the opposition in Barbados.

*The German government has rejected an appeal by the U.S. government to deploy ground forces in Syria to fight the Islamic State (IS) terror organization, government spokesperson Steffen Seibert said in Berlin on Monday.

* Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Monday expressed his satisfaction with the decision of the Eurogroup on accepting his country's letter of intent to join the eurozone.

* Russia's ban on direct flights with neighboring Georgia went into force on Monday amid worsening relations between the two countries.

* Latin America will account for more than 25 percent of global agricultural and fisheries exports by 2028, according to the report "2019-2028 Agricultural Outlook" released on July 8 by the Santiago office of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
