The discussion also focused on the implementation of regional leaders’ directions at the ASEAN+3 Special Summit on COVID-19 Response in April.

The minister affirmed that Vietnam is paying close attention to the quick response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on regional economies and supply chains.

Minister Anh and ASEAN Secretary-General Lim agreed to monitor and push for early agreement between ASEAN member countries and the three partner nations of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea on the content and adoption of a joint statement of ASEAN+3 Ministers on coping with COVID-19 in the time to come.
