COVID-19 cases rise to 141,728 in Myanmar

The number of COVID-19 infections has risen to 141,728 in Myanmar on Friday, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.

The country reported 19 new COVID-19 positive cases with one more death in the past 24 hours, the ministry's release said.

The death toll reached 3,194 so far.

A total of 131,209 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals as of Friday.

The number of samples tested for COVID-19 was 1,117 on Friday, down from around 10,000 samples tested daily in the first week of this month.

COVID-19 was first detected in Myanmar on March 23 last year.
