In his message, the VFF leader said the country faced numerous difficulties and challenges in 2021 as the COVID-19 pandemic caused heavy socio-economic losses and directly affected people’s health and lives.

In response to the summons of Party General Secretay Nguyen Phu Trong, the efforts made by agencies from central to local levels and the great support from people, notably the Khmer ethnic minority community, helped the country overcome the pandemic, gradually adapt and effectively control the epidemic, towards socio-economic development in the new normal.

On the occasion, the VFF leader appreciated the contributions made by the monks and the Khmer ethnic minority people towards the country’s achievements.

He also expressed his hope that the Khmer monks and people would continue to uphold the nation’s good tradition and unite with the whole Party, people and army, enhancing patriotic emulation movements and fulfilling all socio-economic development goals.

The Khmer ethnic minority community should conduct epidemic prevention and control to ensure their health and lives, as well as implement the policies related to ethnic work, especially the national target programme and project on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous people during the 2021-2030 period, added VFF President Do Van Chien.

He also stressed the importance of the preservation and promotion of cultural identities of the Khmer ethnic minority group.
