Symposium highlights President Ho Chi Minh’s leadership role in national resistance war

A symposium entitled “Uncle Ho returned to Tuyen Quang to lead the nation in the resistance war - Historical stature and contemporary values” was jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang on March 31.

Speaking at the symposium, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasised the event’s significance as part of a wide range of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s return to Tuyen Quang to lead the nation in its resistance war against the French colonialists (April 2, 1947 - 2022).

It also provided a good opportunity to express gratitude for Uncle Ho’s great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and nation,while at the same time contributing to the revolutionary tradition of cadres, party members and people, and especially the younger generations, he noted.

The symposium aims to continue to supplement documents, affirming and deepening the role of President Ho Chi Minh in leading the national resistance against the French colonialists; while at the same time affirming the historical role of Tuyen Quang - the place where the headquarters of the resistance force were located, as well as expressing the will and aspiration for the independence, freedom and happiness of the nation.

Delegates and scientists focused on clarifying the main contents of President Ho Chi Minh’s strategic vision when he decided to return to Tuyen Quang to lead the nation in the resistance war on April 2, 1947. Once again, Tuyen Quang went down in history as it became the “Resistance Capital” of the nation.

President Ho Chi Minh’s choice to return to Tuyen Quang was a decision to express his strategic vision, asTuyen Quang is a place where all factors of an ideal revolutionary base for the nation's long-term resistance war exist. This is a land with a long historical and cultural tradition, and an important strategic position.

Through historical periods, the people of Tuyen Quang and the whole country heroically fought against foreign invaders, defended national sovereignty and territory, thereby contributing to the heroic history of the nation.
