The meeting reviewed the association’s education activities in the 2011-2015 period and found that collaboration in the field among member states has contributed to raising the sense of solidarity in the bloc as well as boosting its socio-economic and environmental development.
Participants discussed ASEAN resolutions to narrow the gap in the development of education and exchanged views on the ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework (AQRF), the ASEAN Students Exchange Programme (ASEP) and the ASEAN University Network (AUN).
Also up for discussion were co-operation programmes, projects and activities with dialogue partners such as ASEAN +3 and East Asia Summit (EAS) education cooperation, framework agreements on cooperation between ASEAN and UNESCO, and the Fulbright-ASEAN initiative.
The implementation of the post-2015 vision, especially in developing human resources in the bloc for the common prosperity of the region, was tabled during the meeting.
