The city leaders also recognised the contributions of the business community to the socio-economic development of Da Nang, as well as shared in their difficulties and informed them about solutions to pursue the city’s 2023 goals of unleashing resources, attracting investment, maintaining economic growth and ensuring social security.
Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang said that after nearly three years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the city has seen positive socio-economic recovery with the economic growth rate having expanded by more than 14% compared to 2021, ranking third in the country.
The city has nearly 37,000 enterprises with a total capital of more than 240 trillion VND. The number of businesses returning to operation increased by 28.5%.
Quang emphasised that the business community has always accompanied and supported the city during its recovery and development, even in the most difficult time when the epidemic broke out and spread.
He also frankly acknowledged that the city’s economy has yet to promote its potential and available internal resources while investment attraction is still limited.
As such, the city’s focus this year will be on effectively exploiting its advantages and potentials and looking for new development resources to maintain economic growth and ensure social security.
At the meeting, business representatives expressed their hope that the city authorities would continue to assist in solving problems related to land resources, capital, interest rates, tax support, and technology for businesses to recover and expand.
The city authorities also pledged to make further efforts to support enterprises so that no enterprise is left behind.
