Ho Chi Minh City launches bus commemorating Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s first visit to Vietnam

The Consulate General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City officially launched a bus tour, on September 30 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of leader Fidel Castro's visit to Vietnam.

The bus was printed with the image of leader Fidel Castro waving the flag of the National Liberation Front of Southern Vietnam on Hill 241, in Quang Tri Province. This is one of the symbols that has immortalised the exemplary brotherly relationship between Cuba and Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, said over the past six decades, leaders of the Communist Party and the Government of Cuba and Vietnam, have preserved and consolidated the special political relationship. The brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation are the main features of the relationship between the two countries.

Vietnamese people always remember Fidel's famous saying “For Vietnam, we are willing to give even our own blood”, which sincerely expresses Cuban people's feelings for Vietnam.

Leader Fidel Castro’s first visit to Vietnam showed the world that Vietnam was not alone and affirmed the unconditional support of the Cuban people.
