Speaking at the conference, Politburo member Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasised that the Supreme People’s Court has proactively and creatively proposed many breakthrough solutions to judicial reform over the years, improving the quality of court operations in general and the quality of trials in particular.

Many major policies and tasks of judicial reform have been proposed by the People’s Court to be institutionalised in the Constitution and laws, and have been implemented seriously and synchronously, he added.

He suggested that delegates focus on promoting collective wisdom, discussing new, effective and practical solutions to contribute to improving the quality of judicial work at all levels, as well as renovating the organisational apparatus to fully perform judicial functions and powers, he noted.

The two-day conference focused on researching and reporting on renovating operations and improving trial quality in the spirit of the Party’s resolutions on judicial reform; reporting on the orientation of amending and supplementing the Law on Organisation of People’s Courts; and listening to the introduction of the content of the book entitled “Resolutely, persistently fighting corruption and negative phenomena to contribute to building more transparent and stronger Party and State” by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong.

The delegates also evaluated the results of the implementation of 14 breakthrough solutions to improve the quality of trial; discussed and approved solutions to further improve the quality of trial in the coming time; and discussed and agreed on major orientations to accelerate judicial reform, perfect the legal system, organise law enforcement mechanisms, and build a professional, modern, fair, and strict justice system, serving the Fatherland and the people.
