Kon Tum holds memorial and reburial services for the remains of 13 martyrs

Authorities in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum held a ceremony at the martyrs’ cemetery in Ngoc Hoi District on June 10, reburying the remains of 13 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in Laos.

The sets of remains were found in Attapeu, Sekong and Champasak provinces in Laos and Ratanakiri, Cambodia during a search campaign in the 2021-2022 dry season.

At the memorial service, Vice Chairman of the KomTum Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngoc spoke highly of the efforts of officers and soldiers from the repatriation team and the provincial Military High Command in the search for and reburial of the remainsand voiced his gratitude to authorities in Laos and relevant agencies of both countries.
