Regarding the Laos-Vietnam ties during the revolutionary fight, the two countries had a special friendship and solidarity, fighting together against old and new colonialism. In particular, the victory to completely liberate the South of Vietnam is one of the most important prerequisites, creating favourable conditions for the complete liberation of Laos.
The editorial also quoted President Kaysone Phomvihane's article in a book on the History of special relations between Laos and Vietnam during the 1930-2007 period which affirmed that steadfastly following the Marxism-Leninism and the spirit of proletarian internationalism, The Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the Lao people have done their best to contribute to the fight for the victory of the Vietnamese people to protect and build socialism in the north and liberate the south of Vietnam.
Seizing “a once in a thousand years opportunity”, in early May 1975, the Lao Politburo decided to seize power by organising the implementation of three strategies. On December 2, 1975, the Lao People's Democratic Republic was officially established.
