He made the remarks at a conference held on January 17 to announce the province’s plan for 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
The Deputy PM also noted that the province’s plan is compatible with the National Strategy on Green and Sustainable Development, according to the Politburo Resolution No.23-NQ/TW.
The government official said the planning demonstrates the new mindset and vision to create new opportunities, momentum and values for Gia Lai’s development. Thus, the province should adhere to set development perspectives to develop a model of sustainable economic development aligned with the preservation and promotion of cultural identity.
According to the Deputy PM, Gia Lai has sizable room to foster renewable energy development, high-tech agriculture, forestry economy and ecological tourism. Therefore, it should create breakthroughs in mechanisms and policies attracting investors to boost rapid, effective, and sustainable economic development.
Under the planning, Gia Lai will be a pioneer province in the region, converting to a green economy and circular economy based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation and integration by 2030. By 2050, the province expects to become a “Plateau of Ecology, Sports and Health”, a unique, green land rich in cultural identity.
Le Thanh International Border Gate and Pleiku Airport will be two gateways connecting Gia Lai with localities at home and abroad. In addition, three economic corridors corresponding to the three routes of Ho Chi Minh Road (National Highway 14), National Highway 19, and National Highway 25 will be the driving forces for promoting industries and creating unique and high-value-added products.
