Over 40 agreements signed between RoK and Vietnam’s Central Highlands enterprises

More than 40 memorandums of understanding (MoU) were signed between enterprises from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Vietnam’s Central Highlands at a trade conference between the two sides in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, on August 1.

With the aim to promote exports between Central Highlands enterprises and RoK enterprises, the event was jointly organised by the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA), the Lam Dong Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre, and the departments of industry and trade of Central Highlands provinces.

Duong Quoc Anh, Director of the Lam Dong Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre, said that the Central Highlands region has great potential in terms of natural resources, temperate climate, friendly people, and diverse culture, and has also become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors alike.

Bui Xuan Lich, Chief Representative of the Trade Promotion Agency Office in the Central Highlands region, shared that the RoK is Vietnam’s third largest trading partner, with bilateral turnover of 76 billion USD in 2023. It is also Vietnam’s third largest export market and second largest import market.

The conference saw the participation of 29 RoK enterprises, 73 enterprises and cooperatives from the Central Highlands region, and one enterprise from An Giang Province.

At the conference, businesses from both sides shared experiences in the production and trading of key products, brand promotion activities, and solutions to facilitate trade connections between the two sides, thus helping to open opportunities for sustainable cooperation in the future.

At the event, RoK and Central Highlands enterprises signed 42 MoU, including 25 MoU between Lam Dong and RoK enterprises, 11 MoU between Dak Lak and RoK enterprises, three MoU between Dak Nong and RoK enterprises, and 3 MoU between Gia Lai and RoK enterprises.
