The State official made the statement at a meeting in Hanoi on June 12, with outstanding Ho Chi Minh Vanguard Children's Union (HVCU) members, from Ho Chi Minh City.

The children are in Hanoi for the “I love my fatherland” journey, held by the Ho Chi Minh City authorities since 2009.

The Vice President emphasised that child care, education and protection is a strategic, long-term task, which has significantly contributed to the human resource training of the country.

She also stated that childcare, education and protection are the shared responsibility of all-level Party Committees, authorities, organisations, families, schools and society.

She noted with pleasure that Vietnam is one of the pioneer countries in implementing international conventions on children’s rights, with its efforts being highly appreciated by many international organisations and friends.

She expressed her hope that children will promote national traditions and study harder to become good citizens, contributing to the national construction.
