Certificates of merit presented to stand-out collectives and individuals in COVID-19 fight

Outstanding collectives, individuals were presented with Prime Minister’s certificates of merit for their good performance in the fight against COVID-19 in Hanoi’s Dong Anh District at a ceremony on May 16.

The honouree collective included people and officers of Dong Anh District, the district’s health centre, and people and officers of Lo Giao Hamlet, Viet Hung District.

The four outstanding individuals were Secretary of the district’s Party Committee and Chairman of the district People’s Council Le Trung Kien, Chairman of the district People’s Committee Nguyen Xuan Linh, Director of the district’s health centre Nguyen Tien Cuong, and Secretary of Lo Giao Commune’s Party Committee Nguyen Huu Phan.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh stressed that since the first day detecting an F1 case in connection with the latest cluster of cases in the northern province of Ha Nam on April 30, Dong Anh District has actively and found creative ways to seal off affected areas and suppress the outbreak while maintaining normal production activities and people’s lives.

He hailed that COVID-19 situation in Dong Anh District has been basically put under control now, while the district’s implementation of socio-economic development goals and preparations for the upcoming national elections have been kept on track.

* The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Health of Da Nang City were also awarded the Prime Minister’s certificates of merit for their achievements in COVID-19 prevention and control, according to a decision signed by the Prime Minister on May 16.

During the COVID-fight in the city, the city’s CDC and Health Department exerted every effort in early detecting infections, sealing off affected areas and preventing the spread of the pandemic in the community.

In particular, the two units have also developed initiatives in conducting COVID-19 test, contributing to saving the cost of testing, accelerating the testing process, and quickly detecting cases of infection in the community.
