A nationwide conference to thoroughly study and disseminate the Politburo’s directive on preparations for the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA) and all-level People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 term concluded in Ha Noi on November 15 after completing its full agenda.

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly (NA) has decided that the total number of deputies of the 16th legislative body will be 500, according to Resolution No. 1891/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the anticipated number, structure, and composition of the 16th NA’s members.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Council for Emulation and Commendation, on October 5 launched an emulation campaign to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure.
