Lawmakers propose stronger safeguards for Vietnamese workers abroad

In group discussions as part of the 16th National Assembly’s first extraordinary session on August 5, lawmakers reviewed a draft law to amend and supplement several articles of the Law on Vietnamese Guest Workers under Contract, noting that the draft includes many new provisions designed to enhance discipline, improve state management, and better safeguard the lawful rights and interests of this group.

Deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA) reviewed proposals and verification reports on two draft laws at their first extraordinary session on August 4, namely the draft Law on the Prevention of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction and a draft law amending and supplementing provisions of nine laws on military and national defence.

16th NA's first extraordinary session stresses efficient resource use, national sovereignty

The 16th National Assembly, on August 3, reviewed government proposals and verification reports on three draft laws and resolutions, covering special mechanisms for addressing legal violations in both the State and private sectors, along with applying science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; and those to tackle challenges facing projects for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2027 in the Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province; and the revised Petroleum Law.
