Viet Nam’s proposals placed the highest priority on ensuring a peaceful and stable environment conducive for continued sustainable development and improving the well-being and happiness of the ASEAN people. Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang said that the Vietnamese delegation made important contributions to the summit’s success, reflecting the foreign policy orientation set out by the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, which continues to place ASEAN at the centre of Viet Nam’s regional engagement, as well as its commitment to proactive, positive and responsible contributions to ASEAN Community-building process.

The trip was considered a success both multilaterally and bilaterally, leaving a positive impression of Viet Nam’s proactive, active and responsible spirit, as well as its substantive and effective contributions to ASEAN’s common work and efforts to promote ties with member states.

Vietnamese PM puts forward proposals to address multidimensional challenges at 48th ASEAN Summit

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung emphasised the need to concentrate resources on ensuring essential security needs, including energy security, food security, and human security, including the ratification and effective implementation of the ASEAN Petroleum Security Agreement, and the substantive implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation 2026–2030, the ASEAN Power Grid, and the ASEAN Gas Pipeline network.
